Maclellan is is home to a wide variety of plants, animals, and birds, with muskrats, geese, making regular showings. Keep your eyes peeled for kingfishers darting across the water, and look for nesting Osprey and Great-blue Heron!

North Chickamauga Creek Gorge

Twenty minutes from downtown but well worth the trip, North Chickamauga Creek Gorge boasts gorgeous waterfalls and plenty of paths for stretching your legs with hiking trails connected to the 200-mile (and growing) Cumberland Trail. If you’re in town for more than a couple days, the gorge is a must-see! 

Rock Climbing Spots

On belay! Rock climbers will find plenty of stone to scale all around Chat-town, one of the country’s most renowned climbing cities. Located right in the middle of the stone speckled Cumberland Plateau, Chattanooga is the Boulder Colorado of the South, with year-round trad, bouldering and sport routes just minutes away from downtown.
