About This Work:
As part of a long-term content review and rewriting project for Amazon Music and Audible, I listened to podcasts and wrote editorial reviews. I wrote metadata using a structured editorial workflow. All content was optimized using Grammarly, Hemingway (target grade 8), Clearscope SEO, and Copyleaks (AI/plagiarism detector) for originality.
Because these summaries were written for a global audience — often including non-native English speakers — the tone prioritized clarity, simplicity, and cultural accessibility. I avoided idioms, slang, or abstract metaphors, and focused on providing direct, helpful summaries that matched brand voice and SEO best practices.
A key challenge in this work was managing the editorial tension between tools — for example, a word change that improved the Hemingway readability score might slightly weaken SEO performance in Clearscope, or a grammatical tweak that pleased Grammarly might introduce stiffness for the reader. Striking the right balance was a kind of editorial calculus, requiring both linguistic judgment and deep awareness of the tools’ differing priorities.
